New Dell XPS Rivals MacBook Pro

For too many years Dell made notebooks that would go unnoticed next to a brown paper bag. Those days are gone. Apple spokesman Cameron Craig said the company was aware that there might be a problem. We’ve received a few reports that some MacBook consumer notebooks may have hard drive issues, and we’re looking into it, he said. About 50 Seagate hard drives from MacBooks have been brought to Retrodata for data recovery since the summer of 2006. With the exception of two or three cases, the data was lost forever because people ran the MacBook utilities to try to correct the problem.

Both cases are fine, not spectacular, in their approach to iPod coverage. Each one exposes the entire bottom of the iPod in order to guarantee full compatibility with Universal iPod Dock accessories, and succeeds; the price of such exposure is that the iPod classic s bottom sides are unnecessarily exposed at all other times when it s not in a dock. So too are its Hold switch and top-mounted headphone port, the latter cut perfectly to fit any size of headphone plug you may have.

Networking security hardware manufacturer SonicWALL recently announced that it has distributed defensive measures to users of it’s Unified Threat Management technology, against zero-day vulnerability exploits found in QuickTime. Malicious websites are able to create a stack-based buffer overflow in Apple’s media player, by providing a phony movie file that, when activated, executes a series of code that allows a users machine to be taken over.
