So not only are Apple and Fox colluding for a movie rental deal on the iTunes service, they’ve got a special deal in place that allows users to rip Fox DVDs onto their computers. Financial Times isn’t clear on exactly how the format works, but from what we gathered from past news, the files are going to be pre-ripped and reside on the disc already optimised for iPod/iPhone or AppleTV formats.

Although we’ll never see this TG LLUON Mini PC here on account of how it’s Korea-only, it looks so good that we just had to show you anyway. Inside the small box is an Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, a 500GB hard drive, DVD burner, GeForce 8400GS and Wi-Fi. It’s $US1500, unfortunately, making it almost three times as much as a Mac Mini. But man, does this look so much nicer. It’s like Darth armor to Luke’s dorky outfit.

It s been confirmed multiple times that a 3G iPhone will arrive in 2008. The only factor preventing this iteration of the iPhone from happening is battery consumption, 3G chipsets consume a lot more than their lower speed counterparts. But Apple has more on their hands than finding a low voltage chip: they have to totally revamp the iPhone. Apple s been known to over deliver from financial earnings to product design but the iPhone may be a tough spot to please consumers.

Warner Music, whose artists include Madonna, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Led Zeppelin, had positioned itself as one of the staunchest defenders of the digital locks that were designed to deter people from making copies of copyrighted songs and illegally swapping them over the Internet. The music industry has been squeezed by falling CD sales and the active trade of music illegally copied and shared online.

My iPod Touch can do everything! If the recipient happens to respond, their response will be sent to your AIM account, which should still be open on your iPod Touch. Evalocity7 fails to point out four things. First, it is much easier to set this up using a regular computer. You don t necessarily have to do it through your iPod Touch or iPhone. Second, it s probably easier to to use a native instant messaging app such as Apollo IM, but that requires you to hack your unit .

SideShow on iPod Close

SideShow, one of several often discussed but never released Vista-only extras, is getting closer to release. Ikanos Consulting has been working on a new version of the software , which allows small external screens to connect to and display content from a PC, for handhelds based on the popular Windows Mobile 6 platform. But surprise! The company’s Go Gadgets for Windows Mobile software will also run the iPod, as evidenced by these leaked screen shots of the latest beta version.
