A former Golden Apple nominee teacher was behind bars Friday for reportedly battering his pregnant daughter in their Cape Coral garage. John Elias, 45, was arrested Thursday on a charge of domestic violence battery and was being held without bond at Lee County Jail. Records from the Lee County Clerk of Courts reveal three prior domestic violence injunctions in the last three years have been filed against him by two different women. Still, Elias has no prior criminal record.

Apple extends iPhoto discounts

A portion of the coupon offer e-mail. Apple said Friday that it would extend its winter promotion of iPhoto books and calendars through March 7 due to issues with its online ordering system. In late December, Apple send out a mailing advertising a 20 percent discount on iPhoto books and calendars through the end of February, with North American users being instructed to use the coupon codes NAWinterBook08 and NAWinterCal08.

Charlotte County - The state is investigating a Lee County Golden Apple finalist following allegations of abuse to a special needs student. Back in 2005, a witness claims Catherine Hile punched a special needs student several times when she taught at Charlotte Harbor School in Port Charlotte. Hile denies the allegations according to her personnel file. The Department of Education is looking into the claims.

Aspyr Media announced Friday that Apple retail stores around the country are hosting tournaments for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The game is available for Mac and PC and sold, among other places, in Apple stores. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is the music game in which you play guitar using a special guitar-shaped controller, matching notes on screen as rock and roll hits from classic songs to the modern age are played.

I am not going to go on and on about this because the question is very simple to answer without making things difficult, it seems today though that Microsoft have made a play for how in fact Windows Mobile is their way forward in the Market which is at this years CES keynote. It seems the mobile phone industry is getting bigger each year and Windows Mobile phone will integrate with business.

Apple analysts always seem to be wondering or worrying about something, and Apple s $18 billion cash reserve is the latest topic of discussion . Will Apple issue a dividend? Will it buy back stock? Or will it buy some companies? I don t know about any of those, so I m going for option four: Steve Jobs will begin fashioning iPhone cases out of compressed $20 bills.

Please join us to learn about the iPhone software roadmap, including the iPhone SDK [Software Development Kit] and some exciting new enterprise features, the company wrote in an invitation distributed by email. iPhone SDK to headline? Apple originally intended to hold the event last week but was forced to delay it due to development issues.

Wednesday, February 27, 2008 - 10:36 AM EST “Apple’s iTunes will likely whip past Wal-Mart Stores to become the largest U.S. music retailer sometime this year,” Greg Sandoval reports for CNET. “The NPD Group issued a report Tuesday that said Apple had outpaced Best Buy and Target to become the No. 2 U.S. music retailer. Unless the downward trend in CD sales suddenly reverses, Apple will be No. 1, said Russ Crupnick, the NPD Group’s president of Music,” Sandoval reports.

Apple launches iPhoto

It requires Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later and iPhoto 7. The software has been designed to ease the management of photos on the Apple Macs. It is similar to the Google Picasa application available on Windows and Linux platform.

Apple will announce tight regulation of iPhone applications at its March 6th SDK event , say several anonymous sources. Although the SDK has been hotly anticipated as a means of turning iPhones into handheld computers, Apple will for various reasons restrict how iPhone software operates and is distributed. Users will for instance have to acquire applications through the iTunes Store, instead of through independent websites, where it may sometimes be more convenient.
