By Scott Gilbertson February 29, 2008 | 9:46:06 AM Categories: browsers , Mac , software In an effort to make Firefox 3 faster on a Mac, Mozilla developer Vladimir Vukićević stumbled across several private, undocumented APIs used by competitor Safari. The good news is that Vukićević was able to fix the Firefox 3 bug he was after using a publicly documented method, but the existence of the hidden APIs have already led many to conclude the Apple is unfairly crippling non-Apple software.

Compact disc sales declined 19 percent in the last year, according to Nielsen SoundScan, which tracks retail sales. Downloads and mobile ringtones weren’t enough to make up for the drop. ITunes has sold more than 4 billion songs, Apple said in a separate statement. But life has gotten busy since then, and I leave that to my wife now. She’s the one always buying the iTunes cards and filling up her own iPod with her songs of choice. Apple has made this an easy process, except for slow Internet speed when everyone is trying to purchase and download songs at the same time. iTunes still rocks Although I have slowed down with my purchases and listening to music, about 50 million other iTunes fans seem to be still enjoying themselves.

The i-phone is an overpriced smartphone. Ihope this guy wins, and a real company takes over apple and fires justin long, leaving only the pc guy there to mind his own business and do what he does best, NOT P”S ME OFF. No offense mac users… I’ve had more problems o na mac i na day, than I’ve had with XP since the release, Had mroe problems with a mac in an hour than I do with Vista for 3 months. Mac’s dont liek me.. Mac’s crash on me, mac’s break on me..

Eventually Vladimir was snuffling around some old tech notes from Apple when he found that the reason that Firerabbit wasn’t affected was that since it was not a Cocoa app and was exempt from being subject to the silly updates. The Apple techs talked about a last resort which showed how to disable the feature and Vladimir got the whole thing working properly. What was strange was that Apple’s Safari/WebKit didn’t seem to have this problem.

Main The Apple does not fall far from the corporate tree One of the big rumous prior to January’s Lotusphere was the imminent arrival of some sort of Lotus Notes integration with the iPhone . When the annointed time came we were dissapointed with just a ‘light’ version of the web client being touted as the Apple solution. Rumour had it that someone (high up) in Cupertino had thown their iToys out of the collaborative pram as the timing of the announcement did not suit them.
