Email Apple ( AAPL ) COO Cook has affirmed that 10 million iPhones will be sold in 2008. Let’s take Apple at its word that it will in fact achieve that sales number. In the past, they’ve made good on their predictions. If anything they’ve made a tradition of making conservative estimates and then beaten them.

iTunes Store Rated 2nd Largest Music Retailer

A new report shows Apple’s iTunes digital music store edged out Best Buy and Target to become the second-largest music retailer in the United States. Wal-Mart still ranks #1. With over 50 million customers, iTunes has sold more than 4 billion songs according to Apple.

CUPERTINO, CALIF. Apple s new ultra-thin laptop, the MacBook Air, weighs three pounds, features a 13.3-inch LED-backlit screen and a full-size keyboard, and measures 0.76 inch at its thickest and 0.16 inch at its thinnest. The Cupertino-based company has also aimed to slim down the environmental impacts of its newest product. The majority of circuit boards were made without brominated flame-retardents, and the notebooks use PVC-free internal cables, according to Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL).

On Tuesday, MacBook and MacBook Pro received a highly-awaited upgrade to the existing versions. An upgrade means that the products now bundle new faster processors and a multi-touch track pad in the same skin as before. Amongst a set of key updates, the one enhancement that stands out quite evidently amidst the rest is that both the MacBook as well as the MacBook Pro have now got new Intel Penryn processing chips.

It could have made up for the shortcoming in specs by adding a Blu-Ray/DVD-RW drive as an option. So, you can t burn Blu-Ray discs, big deal . This would have been better than nothing but it settled for nothing. Note to Apple, that was the wrong decision.

Holy crap! Cosmopolitan Magazine never mind why I was reading it has just published an article saying the Apple Store is the hottest haunt to pick up dashing young chaps. That means hordes of the Cosmopolitan Magazine reading public are off to their local Apple Store to search for trendy geeks like you. It makes no sense to us either, but don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, lad. This may well blow your mind, but here’s the situation; you may get to talk to a hot girl. Shocking, we know.

Worldwide sales of mobile phones surpassed 1.15 billion units in 2007, according to market research firm Gartner. The company also said that three new companies entered the top ten in sales for the first time including Apple with its iPhone. Apple was joined in the top ten by ZTE and Research in Motion with its popular BlackBerry device.

They replaced (wait for it!) Taiwanese BenQ, Chinese manufacturer Bird, and” French company Sagem… of whom so many have said: “Who?” This hasn’t stopped the iPhone being featured as the top winner of this story. Apple, boasts Jim Dalrymple “was joined in the top ten by ZTE and Research in Motion with its popular BlackBerry device.” That’s the MacWorld interpretation of the Gartner figures.
