The data seems to go a little against recent findings by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said that observation showed that customers favored higher-priced models of iPods during the same weekend. But both analysts could still be right. Each version of iPod classic, nano, touch, shuffle exist in their own bubbles for the most part and don t really compete with each other for the same buyers.

Someone who is interested in an iPod touch is generally not interested in a shuffle (unless he or she wants both, which happens often, but no one would choose a shuffle over a touch if a touch was on the radar). In that case, an 8GB iPod nano would indeed be the higher-priced version of the available nanos.
