CF Apple Computer News, Apple Laptop Computers, iPods, iPhones

When Nick Ciarelli was 13 years old in 1998, he started a simple website that tracked rumors involving Apple, Inc. In 2005, he posted news revealing details of the Mac Mini before anyone else, and it landed him in hot water with the Jobster. Apple took Mr. Ciarelli to court to force him to reveal his source, so they could plug up the leak. A legal debate ensued to decide whether bloggers were considered journalists, thus determining whether their sources were protected as well.

Think Secret’s founder, now 22 and attending Harvard University, agreed to close down the site to avoid naming his source. Mr. Ciarelli speaking on the subject: I’m pleased to have reached this amicable settlement, and will now be able to move forward with my college studies and broader journalistic pursuits. Looks like Apple wants to get this behind them as well, so we can go on to bigger and better things, like a new Macbook.
