Both here and in the UK O2 are charging roughly the same entry level tariff ( 35= 45), but look… In the UK for that monthly rate they get 600 minutes and 500 texts plus unlimited downloads. We in Ireland, with the same Mobile Operator don t forget, get only 175 minutes and only 100 texts.
And do we get Unlimited Download? Nah - we only get to download 1Gb of data and then we get stiffed for 2c per Mb thereafter. It gets better at the higher tariffs - in the UK the top tariff is 75 p/m (same as our top tariff s price of 100). BUT, for that they get 3,000 minutes (yes 3,000 minutes) and 500 texts per month. O2 Ireland, taking 100 a month remember, only allow us 700 minutes (uk=3,000) and 250 texts (uk=500).
