A new range of ipods with enhanced user interface was introduced in India and it includes the ipod Touch with a multi touch user interface, the new ipod Nano featuring video playback and ipod classic which can store upto 40,000 songs. The iPod Touch is 8mm thin and supports up to 22 hours of audio playback and up to 5 hours of video playback. The 8GB ipod will be available for Rs.15,100, 16GB one for Rs.19,100 and 32GB one for Rs.25,000.

The update adds support for the fourth generation iPod nano. iPod Access Photo is a solution for viewing and retrieving photos stored on iPods. Also new in version 1.6 is improved photo cropping, enhanced photo resolution stats display, faster application load times and bug fixes.

We can’t see the screen from this picture, but I’m assuming that he hasn’t converted this into a Hackintosh yet. I know people who have converted other (Windows) laptops into Mac OS X-running MacBooks, so it’s not that far-fetched. Will Apple have a real MacBook Mini (or MacBook nano) for us this fall? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

Who can resist a good Zune vs. iPod prizefight ? In fact, these days it’s downright necessary, considering that the iPod Nano and the flash Zune look like they’ve been separated at birth. The truth is that most of the similarities between these two MP3 players are only skin-deep. The Zune’s Wi-Fi downloads, FM radio, and Zune Pass subscription support are very different from the Nano’s Genius playlists, iTunes movie rentals, and shake-to-shuffle novelty.
