Bromham Apple Day

Core-blimey, there was some fruity action at Bromham Mill last weekend as the village celebrated its 18th annual Apple Day. The ap-peeling day attracted a tree-mendous 3,000 visitors to the ancient mill for some apple bobbing, pressing, identification and a host of family based activities and games on Sunday (October 19). Some super ciders were on offer from Campaign For Real Ale, while children could enjoy puppet shows and a traditional Bedford clanger.

Apple on Tuesday will announce its quarterly results and according to the Wall Street Journal the market will be watching them for clues as to the overall health of consumer spending. A week after unveiling a new series of MacBook computers and still riding the success of the iPhone, Apple may be a bellwhether of where the CE market is heading. Apple’s stock, however, has dropped nearly 50 percent since the start of the year.

Mark/Space, developer of well-known synchronization software The Missing Sync, has released its new Fliq application for the iPhone and iPod touch. Fliq is a social networking application that allows iPhone and iPod touch users to send photos and contacts to one another. Fliq offers real-time social networking between friends in close proximity, said Brian Hall, CEO of Mark/Space.

NO F*#&ING firewire! Are you F*%&ing kidding me!!! Way to completely ruin a good computer! I’ve been using my macbook for editing, video capture, I have back up devices on FW… wow. They just blew it on a whole population of users upgrading to a new macbook. I took my black one and put a 7200 rpm drive, and maxed the RAM… it edited as well as the towers. Damnit apple! You f*&$ed up.

The Mac Mini hasn t sold very well. It was supposed to be the entry-level Mac for about $500-600. Definitely not the cheapest computer out there, but definitely the cheapest Mac. What s sad is the Mac Mini is a decent little computer. I had one and it did all that I needed it to. I d be kind of sad to see it go.
