No work for Cubie until May, baby! I agree derelict. It is such a disappointment that the Apple TV won’t do any of this even though it probably has the capability. I would buy it in a second if it could hook up to stuff like Joost. Apple makes much more of its profit from selling iPods (and iPhones) than from the iTunes Store. Therefore, the iTunes Store, while profitable, is more of a means of selling more Apple hardware. NBC Universal makes it profit from selling content.

Jermaine Dupri: We made iTunes, not Apple; no more singles, buy albums or we ll take them away! “Some people find it hard to understand my man Jay-Z’s decision not to let iTunes break up his American Gangster album and sell it as single tracks. They say he’s fighting the future and losing out on sales from fans who only want to download singles. But I say it was a stand somebody had to take in the music industry.

Thy name is irony. hey, MDN..not only did your remove my “old news..zzz” I posted a few minutes ago…..but now I feel the need to say something else…Remember Steve Jobs’ old “Gretzky” quote? well, you might want to pay more attention to it. oh and as of late, you’ve become very “anti” posting…as a matter of fact, this site kind of reminds me of what I don’t like about MYSPACE ..banner ads galore, and poor website performance..especially on my iPhone.

People familiar with the matter tell ArsTechnica that programming from a handful of Canadian television networks will start cropping up on the localized version of the Apple digital download service as early as Tuesday afternoon, with a hard launch slated for Wednesday. “As 2007 winds to a close, Apple plans to give an early Christmas gift to our Canadian friends in the form of (a few) TV shows being added to the iTunes Store,” wrote Ars’ Jacqui Cheng.

News Corp.’s (NWS) 20th Century Fox studio is talking with Apple (AAPL) about selling its movies through iTunes, reports Pali Capital’s Rich Greenfield ( reg. required ), who predicts a deal will be done early next year (perhaps in time for Macworld in January?). So far only Disney has allowed Apple to sell its new movies at the same time its DVDs are released, while MGM, Viacom’s Paramount and Lionsgate (LGF) have partial deals.
