Hits and misses And despite some initial criticism, the G1’s early reviewers still find a good deal about it to praise. “This is a competitive product,” Greengart told InternetNews.com , noting G1’s “beautiful” touchscreen. The G1 features a 3.2-inch LCD flat touch-sensitive screen with 320 x 480 resolution. The iPhone has 3.5-inch widescreen, multi-touch display with 480 x 320 resolution.

Some may wonder why people would pay for episodes of their favorite shows when you can watch them online free at the studio website. Many people are like me, I DVR most shows but when I miss them or the DVR fraks up I don’t want to watch on my PC display, I want my shows in HD on my 50-inch TV via my Apple TV. With this announcement, iTunes now claims the title of the world s most popular online TV store.

At the launch of the new MacBook, Jobs stood in front of a giant screen bearing the words: “110/70 - Steve’s blood pressure”. Jobs pointed out that the reading was reassuringly normal but quipped that any questions about the state of his health would cause his blood pressure to soar. “This is all we’re going to talk about Steve’s health today. If you want to see this number go higher, just ask him one question,” he said, to laughter from the assembled audience.

Earlier this year, Apple quietly settled its lawsuit with long-time Apple rumour site Think Secret. While the terms of the settlement were kept confidential, neither party admitted fault but Think Secret shuttered its doors for good. That lawsuit was filed in January 2005, just one month after Apple filed a suit against three reporters seeking sources for a story about a rumoured Apple audio device code-named ‘Asteroid’ (never released).

What will it be? Throughout the weekend, rumours were rife on the Web that when Apple unveils its new notebook line-up on Tuesday, it will announce that some, at least of the new portable Mac range, will shift from an Intel chipset to NVIDIA s competing platform probably the MCP79.
