Xtralean Software has released an update to ImageWell , its image editing software for Mac OS X. The new update is free for registered users, and costs $19.95 to register. ImageWell lets you resize, crop, watermark and edit images, take screenshots and then upload them to the Web, save them on your Mac or e-mail them. You can also annotate images with text, shapes, arrows and lines, add drop shadows, shaped borders, flip and rotate images and more. It works with .Mac and WebDAV hosts.

Leopard iLife 08 Compatible

Big is not always better, and this holds especially true for ImageWell. The photo editing application has won accolades from both critics and Mac users; its strengths lies in its simplicity and intuitive interface. Many of us have bypassed Photoshop in favor of ImageWell when it comes to dealing with simple imaging tasks. Free and fully functional, I think ImageWell might even qualify as a must have Mac application. What s more, Leopard users can now be privy to its goodness.

iMacs, iLife, and iWork

Your review of the new iMacs ( The iMac Makeover, October 2007) convinced me to take the plunge and buy a new machine. But when I got my 20-inch iMac home, I was sad to see that the new LCD screen was horrible compared to my old iMac G5 s. Colors change if I move my head just a bit from side to side. If I move a box of text from the top of the screen to the bottom, letters change from bold and black to faint and gray.
