Both here and in the UK O2 are charging roughly the same entry level tariff ( 35= 45), but look… In the UK for that monthly rate they get 600 minutes and 500 texts plus unlimited downloads. We in Ireland, with the same Mobile Operator don t forget, get only 175 minutes and only 100 texts.

Apple iPhone SDK delayed?

Steve Jobs announced the iPhone SDK already back in October. The announcement targeted a release in February. Now BusinessWeek has posted a story saying the iPhone SDK is late by 1 to 3 weeks.

Comment from: bobchr Had Verizon 2 years ago and switched to Cingular. I was working construction management and kept running between 20 - 60 minutes over on my 450 minutes/mont plan. Verizon has the best coverage but still the most expensive plans. Even when I boosted my plan to 600 minutes / month I was still getting hit with overage charges to the tune of $125 to $200 per month. My boss would only pay for 1/2 my bill even though 95% of the calls were for his business.

According to Gardner, We believe that lack of 3G has been a significant headwind for iPhone in Europe where 3G is already pervasive. On the other side, 3G is still not deployed in the US. If it is made available, it could boost 3G wireless coverage to 350 major US markets as well as 100 of the largest cities.

As we’ve noted a number of times, application updaters often exhibit issues if their targets are located outside of the /Applications folder. In the case of iWork ‘08 applications, it appears that Pages, Keynote and Numbers must be located inside the folder “iWork ‘08″ within /Applications .

Steve is now demoing the locate feature. Now showing how you can send multiple SMS s to more than one person at once, pretty cool feature. Now showing webclips. Going to Google because they have a lot of cool apps that work with the iPhone .

With just the tap of a button, iPhone can now triangulate your position using nearby Wi-Fi base stations or cellular towers. You can use this as a starting or ending point for directions or to find local points of interest.

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Software group Microsoft will not launch a product that competes directly with Apple Inc’s iPhone, Chairman Bill Gates said in an interview with Germany’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. “No, we won’t do that. In the so-called smart phone business we will concentrate solely on software with our Windows Mobile program,” Gates was quoted as saying in the interview published on Wednesday.
