After pummeling the stock all day, we saw some rebound in afterhours but only to levels Apple enjoyed coming into the day. But it’s not a 30% down moment, at least.
Apple’s Q4 fiscal earnings totaled $1.14 billion ($1.26 per share) on revenue of $7.9 billion. The company beat Wall Street expectations of $1.11 per share on $8.05 billion in revenue. Notably, it sold 6.9 million iPhones, outpacing its goal of 10 million sold for ‘08. (When the iPhone 3G debuted last summer, three million units were sold in the first month.) iPhone now comprises 39 percent of total business.

Just a little follow-up here on the Olo Computer , the supposed iPhone-based Netbook that was ‘announced’ two weeks ago. We got an email from Giacomo Bersano, the head of Active Innovation Management, confirming that the Olo is a concept, not a product. “We are not PC technologists, and we are looking for some technological partner to go further on the Olo concept,” Bersano writes.
